When Anxiety Lives in Your Body

Anxiety doesn’t just live in the mind — it lives in the body.
I’ve seen it in my clients, and even in my own home. In 2019, my family adopted a rescue puppy who came into the world with challenges that left deep imprints on his tiny nervous system. Though he’s safe and loved, he still startles easily and stays on guard — his body remembering a time when life wasn’t so gentle.

People are much the same. Even after stressful experiences have passed, our bodies can remain in protection mode — bracing for what’s no longer there.
Through yoga therapy, we can gently help the body remember what safety feels like again.
